SDBF

Today I conclude that coxing a dragonboat is much more fun than rowing it.

Feels great to be a coxwain.

I want to cox again.

And the results at sdbf today was not too shabby.

Mix race was fun.

Men's open so-so only.

Overall not that bad.

Next race will be national schools canoeing.

Then will be WCC.

wheelbarrow

Strongly against wheelbarrow training.

Really tiring. (It killed me)

Can't wait to feel fast again.

Been experiencing a lot of problems lately.

Shan't elaborate.

Anyway, food from the US rocks.

Thank you Gill for the good food and random stuffs.

Study session not very constant.

Someday productive, others totally wasted.

Need to be more disciplined. (a bit hard)

Tired.

Goodnight.

Walking on a tight rope

From now on till nationals,

I will need to do a lot to prepare myself for it.

But that would have it's fair share of risks too.

Before today, I almost forgot how it's like racing down the lanes.

Today I saw them raced and I thought to myself,

"I want to race, I want to go down there and try."

I really can't wait for nationals.

After nationals, there will be others to focus on.

Niscc, Ncc, Seacc.

I will try to compete as much as possible to bring myself to another level.

People are improving fast,

I shouldn't stay behind.

2 men down

Too bad it turned out this way.
Wanted to see us together at your finishing line not only in your race but in canoeing.
No longer teammates, but still friends.
It won't be the same guys.
At least you guys are happy now.
See you around school boys.
Thanks for all the good times.

Looking for help!!!

I need as much advice as possible on how to become faster in canoeing.

And also study tips.

I'm feeling really slow.

Lack motivation.

Not a good time to lack motivation.

Nervous, not confident, slow.

National schools is slightly more than a month away.

Need to step up training.

Time to take supplements.

Macritchie getting really crowded.

SA and VJ seen in macritchie.

Going to fight as an underdog who is not expecting anything.

Going there to give my best.

After 2 years and 6 months of rowing, I wonder where will I stand.

I doubt it would be the same as NJCC.

This time, people are going to hunt me down.

And, they will definitely be faster than they were in April.

I think all I can do now is just to keep training and when the day comes, I'll just try my best.

The feeling

Yeah!!! Finally got to climb after don't know how long. Felt really good, although I think I'm not as good as I used to be. Fingers are really soft. Anyway, we climbed many routes there. Bouldering, top-ropes and even leading. Love the place man. So many interesting routes to try out, so little time. The juniors are getting quite good too. A few of them now in Nat team. Cool eh? I want to go for N.I.S.Climbing.C and N.I.S.Canoeing.C. Hopefully it doesn't clash. Anyway, back to the story. We spend 5 hours on both Saturday and Sunday there climbing our fingers off. I really want to go back there soon. Food is really cheap too. A Fish and Co. meal cost the same price just that it’s in ringgit. Pizza was cheap too. Many funny things happened which I do not wish to mention. When you put 6 guys in the same room without room service f0r 3 nights, you'll wish you weren't a room cleaner. Seriously! Ha-ha. Bags of chips, bottles of drinks, messed up furniture arrangements, messy toilet, messed up beds and many more. We watched horror movies at night before going to sleep. Hotel breakfast rocks, good food. Ate like hungry humans. Yesterday night, I was at K.L's Chinatown. Although there were so many stuffs to see, I couldn’t find anything worth buying. In the end I bought a Black Diamond bag from Camp 5. Quite cool I think. Really need to start rowing again. Overall, this trip has really reminded me why I spend my secondary school life in the climbing team. I love the sport as much as canoeing. And I think I can do equally well in both. But for now, I’ll have to stick to canoeing and may be go climb once in awhile. I miss those climbing trainings and competitions. Although the isolation period can sometimes be really long depending on the number of participants, the sense of satisfaction of finishing the routes is like WOAH!!! And if it’s a speed event, hahaha, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For now, I’ll just focus on rowing.

The trip

90km/h to kuala lumpur. Took us about 8 hours to reach there.

Me and Khalid at Times Square hotel. We're waiting for our room key. We shared a room meant for 2 people with 4 other people.

First thing we did after we checked in was to scout for food. In the end, we settled for Chicken rice at KFC. How cool is that?

First thing I saw at Camp 5, Asia's largest climbing gym. The place is huge and really really really really really cool.

And, there were really cool tiles such as this lion head tile which reminds me of the lion in Narnia. haha.

See how high big the place is?

Ok, if that's not convincing enough, how about this? haha. Compare the size of my friend to the size of the place.

Oh, and the is just me attempting a bouldering route that we came up with.
